THE AIM

Although implant dentistry has had some success in recent years, there is still a lot of catching up to do. In particular, there is a need develop treatment protocols that result in fewer surgical procedures, shorter treatment times and less treatment complexity for the benefit of the patient. The prevention, diagnosis and treatment of peri-implant diseases are the central themes of course. Based on the guiding principle of biologically driven implant placement, we will discuss clinical issues which, from today’s perspective, must be taken into account in dental implant planning and treatment for optimal prevention of peri-implant diseases in the future.
